Health & Wellness
The Institute, along with collaborative partners, seeks to develop a strategic architecture for a new “health and wellness” ecosystem that is designed to support optimal health within the Lake Nona community. Our perspective is that individuals within the social and cultural context of a community can have a profound impact on their personal health and wellness. The Institute’s mission is to utilize this green field opportunity working with the community of residents and employers, as a learning laboratory to study and activate new initiatives that have a measurable impact on health and wellness.
Some specific goals are to:
- Reduce RealAge by 10%
- Advance Health Awareness
- Develop Sustainable Healthy Behaviors across the Community
- Measurably Improve Modifiable Risk Factors
- Reduce Rates of Chronic Disease
- Enhance Aging in Place
A founding health and wellness partner for the Institute is Wellness & Prevention Inc., a Johnson & Johnson Company. Wellness & Prevention Inc. is working collaboratively with the Lake Nona Institute to design a research project that will study the health and wellness of the Lake Nona Community over the course of multiple years. The data gathered through this valuable research will provide a rich foundation for additional studies and will be essential to learning about strategies that can have a positive impact on the health of future generations.
